Before founding Ricky Kaplan Law LLC, Ricky spent 12 years gaining invaluable experience working as both an in-house commercial counsel and a general counsel. During this time, he developed expertise in a broad range of legal disciplines, including contract negotiations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. As in-house commercial counsel, he worked closely with various business units to provide practical legal guidance on day-to-day commercial transactions, partnerships, and agreements. His role as general counsel allowed him to oversee the entire legal function of the organization, manage a team of legal professionals, and collaborate with executives to shape the company’s strategic direction while ensuring legal compliance across all business operations. This unique combination of roles and experiences gave him the skills needed to start and grow his own firm, with a strong foundation in both legal expertise and understanding of the broader business landscape.
Ricky received his LLB from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Ricky was further educated in the United States and graduated from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. Ricky graduated from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business with an MBA and holds a Green Belt Six Sigma and CIPP/US certification.
Ricky is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Fulton County Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association.
